At least weekly, I’m told by a patient in her 80s that “I’m too old for cosmetic surgery.”
But we know we’re all living longer and, in many cases, healthier.
I’ve done a facelift (which addresses jowling AND sagging neck skin) on an 87 year-old.
Her only medical conditions were high blood pressure (controlled on medications) and osteoporosis.
She was quick to recover and super-happy when she no longer saw her hanging neck when she looked in the mirror.
Of course, not every 87 year-old can have a facelift.
But it does make me think, what stories do we tell ourselves that hold us back?
